R.A.D Running just dropped its third shoe, the MALLOW, and with it, the upstart brand officially has a full training rotation in place, less than a year after entering the running market. Would we wear them. Maybe?

The MALLOW is built as a cushioned daily trainer, slotting in alongside the UFO which was the brand’s debut super trainer in October 2025; and the SYNTH, their versatile daily trainer, launched in April 2026.
The three shoes together are designed to cover a runner’s full weekly workload, from easy recovery miles to faster sessions and long efforts.
On the tech side, the MALLOW runs on a SwellFoam midsole, a 40% bio-based EVA and olefin block copolymers, with a 42mm heel stack, 8mm drop, and a dynamic toe rocker to keep energy moving forward.

The engineered mesh upper features a heel clip and plush collar and tongue for a secure, comfortable fit. At 302g (men’s US 9), it’s squarely in daily trainer territory.
Retail price is $150 USD and is only hitting select independent retailers now, with a wider DTC launch online at the end of May.
Why R.A.D

What makes R.A.D worth watching is the team behind the shoes isn’t starting from scratch. The company’s Head of Design and Innovation Tom Berend comes out of the Nike Innovation Kitchen, and the running line is led by Blue Benadum, a name well known in performance footwear circles.
The brand was founded in 2019 by Ben Massey, originally targeting the CrossFit market before pivoting toward running.
The MALLOW launch includes a custom animated character called “Mal,” created by illustrator and animator Mark Ward to personify the shoe’s cushioned ride. It’s a quirky touch that fits the brand’s energy-forward identity. And to-be-honest, we dig it. Whatever it takes to standout these days.
For runners looking to try something outside the usual roster, R.A.D’s three-shoe lineup is worth a look.
