Zwift doesn’t do small updates anymore but instead their updates are as if they’re dropping a new White Lotus season.
The “This Season on Zwift” drop just landed, and it touches almost every part of the platform you expect. It’s got hardware, Wattopia, the app, and events. We dug through the announcement and pulled out the headlines.
Here’s the full breakdown.
Zwift Ride V2 is Here

The original Zwift Ride made smart bikes affordable and extremely easy to get going on Zwift. The trade-off was fit as it was not longer YOUR bike on an indoor trainer. So that meant, one crank length, and one seatpost position. That’s what you got. The Ride V2 fixes that without touching the price.
What’s new:
- Adjustable Cranks are Standard: There are five lengths (160mm, 165mm, 170mm, 172.5mm, 175mm), swappable with a built-in tool
- Redesigned Seatpost: With 50mm of fore-aft adjustment, it lets riders get a more forward saddle position than the original allowed
- A more Compact Frame: Expanding the fit range to riders from 4’10” to 6’6″ (146–198cm); down from a 152cm minimum on the V1
- Same Price: $1,299.99 / €1,199.99 / £1,099.99, still bundled with the Wahoo KICKR Core 2
If you already own a Ride V1, the good news is you’re not locked out; the new crankset and seatpost will be sold separately as an upgrade through Zwift.com. Available today.
Watopia Gets Bigger

Zwift’s flagship world is adding roughly 18km of new road, connecting Jarvis Island to the Mayan Jungle. The new stretch is inspired by California’s Catalina Island, and it’s not just scenery but comes with a flat bypass around the Epic KOM, finally, giving everyone an option that skips the climb, and two new crit-style circuits built specifically for racing.
The expansion opens October 26, timed to Stage 4 of the Tour of Watopia, which runs October 5 – November 22 with Double-XP and a new “ultimate challenge” for riders who complete every stage.
WHOOP riders get smarter recommendations

Zwift’s first wearable integration is live now.
Connect your WHOOP account and Zwift will factor your Recovery Score into your Personal Recommendations, meaning on a “red” recovery day, Zwift isn’t going to tell you to do a 5/5 effort with 105% FTP pushes but will adjust your suggested session so you’re not overreaching.
Later this fall, the sync goes both ways: your Zwift rides and runs will show up inside the WHOOP app too.
Watt Lock: ERG mode for free rides

Coming in October, Watt Lock lets you toggle ERG mode on mid-freeride from the Action Bar allowing you to lock into a target power with one click.
I really like this update, it now allows you to start easy and if you’re feeling spicy, by the end you can turn on ERG and chase a group. Riders on Zwift Ride, Click, or Play controllers can nudge the target power on the fly.
App Refresh: Companion and the in-game home screen

Two separate updates are landing on the software side:
- Zwift Companion gets a home screen overhaul in October, splitting the weekly activity graph into two clearer views and pushing recent progress front and center.
- The in-game Home Screen starts rolling out September 22, with scheduled workouts surfaced immediately, new day tags for weekly planning, and a Progress Widget tracking weekly goals alongside career stats — a feature riders have been asking for.
More Bikes & Other Drops

The Drop Shop keeps expanding with Zwift promising:
- A Kona-themed drop in October, expected to bring triathlon bikes and wheels
- Factor bikes and Black Inc wheels, a long-requested addition
- The Zwift x Pinarello paint scheme, available for purchase
And for riders chasing the platform’s most exclusive unlocks: Zwift is adding its first new Halo Bikes since launch, with flagship models coming from Cervélo and Canyon later this year.
Halo Bikes require fully upgrading three bikes from the brand to unlock. Something only 9,000 Zwift riders have ever pulled off.
The Zwift Race Calendar
- Zwift Racing p/b DURA-ACE is a new “always-on” series across TT, Crit, and Epic formats, starting this September
- Zwift Racing League returns in September with “Road to Zwift Racing League” intro rides for newer racers, plus a new draftless “Race of Truth” points format
- Power Play, a new campaign running November 23 – December 2 is built around Power Segments in New York, Montmartre, The Grade, and the new Watopia expansion — with kits and Drops as rewards
Our Thoughts
This is one of Zwift’s broadest seasonal drops in a long while. It covers nearly everything they touch. We really like the WHOOP integration but man, I wish Zwift could instead just follow your weeks and suggest the right thing to do, without WHOOP. That would be helpful because I’m always getting a 5/5 hard effort when my legs just want a 2.5 for 90 minutes.
And then of course, if you’ve been holding off on a smart bike because the fit wasn’t right, the Ride V2 appears to have fixed a lot of the previous issues.
