Built for Hype (and miles). On x PAF Launch Current Form 4.0

The Swiss brand and Seoul’s POST ARCHIVE FACTION return with a moth-inspired collection built around the Cloudboom Volt PAF.

Hand up, we’re not hypebeasts so we’re about to cover off on some news that is more about On as a fashion brand versus On as the performance and running brand.

On and POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) are back with Current Form 4.0, the fourth and latest chapter in one of running’s most unlikely and compelling creative partnerships.

Where most sportswear collaborations stop at colorways, On and PAF are drawing from the metamorphosis of a moth to frame running as an act of personal evolution.

The centerpiece is the Cloudboom Volt PAF, a race-ready shoe with an intricate overlay upper and integrated wrap construction that mimics the moment a moth breaks free from its cocoon. Underneath the art-forward shell is legitimate performance hardware featuring a helion midsole for cushioning and energy return, and a part-woven, part-mesh upper for breathability.

It launches in two colorways — White/Gale and Ember/Pebble.

Rounding out the drop is a full apparel suite co-designed through PAF’s deconstructed, asymmetric lens: the Zero Jacket, Zero Singlet, Zero 2-in-1 Shorts, Running-T, Run Belt, Zero Cap, and Run Socks.

Of course, everything is built for running, but for sure rethought through the lens of the athlete who treats gear as an extension of identity, design, and fashion sense.

The campaign is directed by Theodor Guelat, and photographed by Zachary Handley. It asks runners to “Chase Stillness.” and is the kind of brand language that could easily tip into pretension, but On and PAF have earned their stripes in delivering quality. Plus, On brought Elmo to the running world so they strike that balance.

Since 2018, PAF founders Dongjoon Lim and Sookyo Jeong have built one of fashion’s most intellectually rigorous labels out of Seoul, and On continues to prove it’s the rare performance brand operating fluently in both worlds.

Current Form 4.0 drops June 25 at on.com, postarchivefaction.com, and select retail partners.
