MAAP Steps Into Eyewear

Our favorite cycling brand just added new ways to look good and feel good.

MAAP is our go-to cycling brand for when we’re looking to look and perform at our best. Pricey, yes. But in our opinion, the quality and designs are top tier.

And now, they’re expanding beyond apparel. The Melbourne-based brand best known for its progressive kit design, including its recent Tour de France swap-out collaboration with GreenEDGE Cycling, is entering the eyewear category with the launch of Advanced_Optics, a four-model lineup built for riders who want performance and design in equal measure.

The range includes three on-bike performance models and one lifestyle silhouette, each developed to carry MAAP’s design language into a new product space.

“We obsess over the details — always have,” said Ian Elliott, CEO of MAAP. “Eyewear isn’t new to our world, it’s part of how we live and ride. That obsession over details and design is what drives us into new spaces. It sharpens everything. Advanced_Optics is that obsession finding its form with room to grow and evolve.”

The Performance Lineup

All three on-bike models share a common technical foundation: lightweight TR90 frames, high-contrast polycarbonate lenses, hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings, anti-fog treatment, 100% UV protection, and TPE grips for fit and stability.

HALO — An aerodynamic, rimless design with a sweeping curved lens for maximum peripheral visibility. Launches in a “Galaxy” colorway with blue speckles, an interchangeable green TPE nose pad, and grey TPE temple grips. Comes with swappable Silver Mirror (23% VLT) or Yellow (79% VLT) lenses. 21.8g. $250.

ORACLE — A minimalist, semi-rimless shield built for an expansive field of view. Matte beige top frame, light green temple tips, and an interchangeable dark blue TPE nose piece. Lens options include Dark Green (18% VLT) or high-contrast Pink (57% VLT). 23.9g. $230.

FUSE — A full-wrap frame designed for maximum coverage in rough or off-road conditions. Translucent smoke-grey frame with red geometric accents on the inner temples, paired with a fixed 15% VLT lens for dappled light. 23.3g. $210.

The Lifestyle Option

GERSON — Built for post-ride recovery, travel, and everyday wear. Lightweight acetate frame in a marbled Green Tortoise finish with 100% UV-protective lenses. $180.
