Budy Adds Workout History Import and Shareable Training Plans to Its Adaptive AI Fitness Coach

New training-continuity tools let users bring past workouts into onboarding, & compare realistic commitment options.

Budy Labs OÜ has expanded Budy, its AI fitness coaching app for iOS and Android, with new tools designed to address a common weakness in personalized fitness products: users are often asked to begin from a blank profile, even when they already have months or years of training behind them.

The expanded experience introduces workout-history import, shareable training plans, commitment-aware plan options, and more transparent controls for updating unfinished workouts. These capabilities extend Budy’s existing system for personalized training, workout tracking, nutrition, coaching, progress insights, and consistency support.

Starting With the Training a User Has Already Done

During onboarding, users can optionally import previous workout history from another application or spreadsheet. Budy accepts CSV, JSON, and plain-text exports up to 1 MB—approximately one year of typical training data.

Once processed, imported workouts can be added to the user’s history and used as additional context when shaping a new plan. The import workflow is designed to identify completed sessions and useful performance signals rather than treating every new user as a complete beginner.

This allows someone moving from a spreadsheet, manual workout log, or another training application to carry more of their existing training context into Budy.

“Fitness apps should not make experienced users pretend they have never trained before,” said [FULL NAME], founder of Budy. “The goal is to understand what someone has already done, what they can realistically commit to now, and what needs to change as their life and performance change. A useful plan should provide structure without forcing the user to start over every time something changes.”

Three Commitment Options Instead of One Opaque Plan

Budy’s onboarding process collects the user’s goal, training experience, available days, preferred session length, equipment, training location, health notes, limitations, and other relevant context.

Rather than immediately assigning one plan, Budy can present three commitment options:

  • Aggressive, for users prepared to support a higher sustainable training commitment.
  • Balanced, for users looking for steady progress within their stated availability.
  • Relaxed, for users who need a lower-volume approach that is easier to maintain.

The options are generated from the individual’s profile and can differ in weekly frequency, session duration, program length, training emphasis, and expected commitment. This gives users a clearer decision before beginning a training block and helps separate an ambitious plan from one they can consistently follow.

Updating the Work Ahead Without Erasing the Work Completed

Budy organizes training into structured blocks rather than producing isolated daily workouts.

When the current phase no longer fits—because the programming feels too easy or too difficult, equipment changes, availability shifts, or the user supplies new training notes—the user can review an update to upcoming workouts. They can request more challenge, approximately the same challenge, or less challenge before confirming the change.

Completed and skipped workouts remain part of the user’s history where possible. The update focuses on regenerating unfinished programming from the latest profile, training evidence, and user direction.

The aim is to give athletes a middle path between blindly following a plan that no longer fits and abandoning the entire program to start again.

Training Plans That Can Be Shared

Budy users can also create an unlisted link for a training plan and share it through their device’s standard sharing tools.

The feature gives users a straightforward way to show a program to a friend, training partner, coach, or other trusted person without manually copying every session and exercise. Shared plans can communicate the structure of the program while the owner continues tracking their personal execution and progress inside Budy.

Workout Execution Beyond a Static Exercise List

Inside a workout, Budy connects the training plan to practical execution tools. Users can follow available exercise video demonstrations and written guidance while recording sets, repetitions, weight, time, rest, notes, and previous performance.

Smart exercise swaps help users respond when a movement does not fit their available equipment, space, or comfort. Budy can present alternatives intended to preserve the role of the original exercise rather than replacing it with an unrelated movement.

The app also supports training structures including supersets, drop sets, cluster sets, and rest-pause work. Voice guidance can assist with exercise transitions, rest periods, and session flow. Supported workout videos and audio can be downloaded for offline use, with progress syncing after the user reconnects.

Connecting Training With Nutrition and Recovery Decisions

Budy’s higher subscription tiers connect the workout plan with nutrition tools. Users can manage calorie and macro targets, diet preferences, allergies, disliked ingredients, cuisines, meal timing, meal history, and workout-aware meal recommendations.

The Premium tier includes meal photo analysis. A user can photograph a meal, receive an estimate of its calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat, and add that estimate to daily nutrition progress. Manual logging remains available when exact quantities or label-based nutrition values are preferred.

Budy’s AI Coach provides personalized guidance based on the user’s plan, goals, progress, and recent activity. Users can ask about topics such as training consistency, plateaus, missed workouts, recovery, rest days, schedule changes, and nutrition. Material plan changes remain reviewable through the plan-management workflow instead of being applied invisibly during a chat conversation.

Progress, Connected Health Data, and Consistency

Budy brings training and nutrition activity into progress surfaces that include personal records, weekly summaries, strength trends, body changes, check-ins, workout history, and progress photos.

On iOS, Apple Health and Apple Watch support can connect workouts, steps, heart rate, sleep, and calorie information to a broader picture of the user’s activity. The app also includes XP, streaks, quests, badges, leaderboards, reminders, and milestone recaps to make consistency visible between major physical changes.

Budy is currently available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Its subscription structure separates core training from additional nutrition and coaching capabilities:

  • Standard includes personalized workout plans, adaptive training, exercise demonstrations, smart swaps, workout tracking, progress insights, progress photos, reminders, gamification, and workout history.
  • Advanced adds nutrition tracking, nutrition preferences, meal history, meal suggestions, and workout-aware recommendations.
  • Premium adds the AI Coach, voice-guided workouts, next-meal recommendations, meal photo analysis, and early access to selected new features.

Feature availability may vary by platform and subscription tier. Budy provides fitness and nutrition guidance and is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, rehabilitation, or treatment. People with health conditions, injuries, or concerns about beginning a new program should consult an appropriate healthcare professional.
