Welcome back! Hope you’re excited to keep following Front Pack Sports’ very own Anthony, as he keeps preparing for one of the toughest 50Ks in Big Sky, Montana.
The weeks continue to dwindle, and this week there’s no room to coast — just head down, grind it out, and get the work in.
We follow a full week inside Anthony’s training, which includes long days on the trail to build the legs and lungs an ultra demands, strength sessions in the gym so his body doesn’t quit on him when it matters most, and easy miles on the bike to build the aerobic engine without destroying legs that are already cooked.
The build isn’t just about miles but learning to juggle every piece of ultra prep: trail time, strength, recovery, and figuring out how it all fits together as the countdown to Big Sky keeps ticking.
Anthony’s learning fast that becoming an ultrarunner isn’t just about running. It’s the unglamorous stuff — lifting big weights, and doing the recovery work nobody talks about, week after week. And he’s surprisingly into it. The body is holding up for now — but as the race gets closer, how is he really feeling about what’s coming?
Follow along and cheer on Anthony as he gets closer to the big race.
