Are You Healthy?
Are you healthy? Like, actually healthy? I know—you train hard, eat right, take your supplements, and do all the things.
But. Here’s your friendly (and slightly urgent) reminder: go get your yearly check-up. If you have insurance, why not use it.
Case in point. This week, a close friend of 20 years hit me with some unsettling news: he’s getting double bypass surgery. On Monday! As in, just a few days from now. Up until a month ago, he had no clue what his body was going through. Turns out, he has a rare hereditary disease that makes him extra prone to plaque buildup in his arteries. One being more than 50% blocked, the other 60% blocked.
Not great.
So why did he even go to the doctor? What got him there? Peter Attia. See, my buddy is a big podcast guy (ESPECIALLY Peter Attia), and something Peter said recently made him think, huh, maybe I should get checked out. And thankfully he did—because who knows what might have happened down the road.
Now. My friend is 41, married, and expecting his second child. The surgery is brutal (they break your sternum), and recovery will be long, but the alternative? Way worse.
His story hit me hard, so what did I do? I’ve booked a check-up because I too have heart disease in my family.
And you should too.
Don’t wait for a podcast to remind you.
Consider this your sign.
Go make that appointment.

National Sleep Awareness Week
If you missed my post earlier this week, I recapped some of the best things I use to improve sleep and get some amazing ZZZzzz’s.
Not your common run-of-the-mill sleep tracker bullshit, but stuff that actually works – from earbuds, to gummies, gels, sleeves, and apps.
