Reject 'Quit Week'

An early week message for everyone. Don’t be that person.

An early week message for everyone. Don’t be that person.

Did you know this week marks “Quit Week”?

Statistically speaking, it’s the time of year when many people abandon their big goals and plans they set just two weeks ago.

Andddd I get it. Life is hard. Transformation is hard. Believe me. I live this!

The weather keeps us pent up, and the anxiety of getting into a normal groove is sky high. And then turn on the TV or doom scroll social and you’re inundated with the horrors out west.

Whether it’s a fitness journey, a career ambition, or a personal growth target, this is the point where the initial excitement wanes, old habits resurface, and people decide: “Eh, maybe next year.”

Why does this happen? Often, it’s because:

  • The goal feels overwhelming or too big to tackle.

  • Progress isn’t as fast as expected, leading to frustration.

  • Life throws curveballs, and priorities shift.

  • Motivation fades without a solid plan to sustain it.

But here’s the thing:

If you feel like giving up, it’s not a sign that your goal isn’t worth it.

It is a signal to recalibrate and refocus.

Push through this challenging period:

  1. Reconnect with Your “Why”
Remind yourself why you set this goal in the first place. Was it to feel healthier, provide a better future for your family, or achieve something you’ve always dreamed of?

    1. Write this down and put it on your computer monitor, bathroom mirror or on your fridge so you’re reminded everyday – what your why is! It will help reignite your motivation.

  2. Break It Down
If the goal feels too big, break it into smaller, manageable steps.

    1. I talked about this at the beginning of January. DO NOT make one huge end game goal.

      1. Instead of focusing on losing 50 pounds, aim for 5. Instead of running a marathon, focus on your next training session. Celebrate these mini-milestones—they’re wins worth acknowledging.

  3. Anticipate Obstacles
Life will get busy. Setbacks will happen. That is life.

    1. The key is to expect them and plan ahead. Think about potential roadblocks and write down solutions so you’re prepared when challenges arise.

      1. You have work trips planned, make sure you carve out enough time to get a run in at the hotel gym. Eat healthy on the road. Or focus on active recovery.

  4. Focus on Consistency, Not Perfection
You don’t need to do everything perfectly to succeed.

    1. A missed workout or an unproductive day doesn’t mean you’ve failed. You are not a loser. It’s just a small detour.

      1. The real success comes from showing up again the next day. And the next day. Consistency is superior to one good workout.

  5. Lean on Accountability
Share your goals with someone who can help keep you accountable—a friend, a coach, or a community like Front Pack!!

    1. Being part of a group like Front Pack can provide encouragement, shared experiences, and a sense of belonging that makes the journey feel less daunting. What are your goals?

Remember, growth is not linear, and setbacks don’t define your journey.

This is the week where most people give up.

Don’t let that be you.

When you push past this moment, you’ll build momentum and confidence, and that’s where transformation begins.

The weather will shift to spring. You’ll get locked into your routine. And god willing, we can all live together peacefully.

Stay moving… ✌️
