SATISFY x COROS Make Trail Performance Look Good

The APEX 4 gets a stylish makeover, and for once the price didn’t get the same treatment.

Let’s just say it: this is a hypebeast collab.

You’ve got Paris streetwear-meets-technical-running label teaming up with COROS on a limited edition trail watch that has “resale flip” written all over it. But if you’re looking for a way to stand out on the trail without doing something wild, this is a pretty easy button to press, and as we dug into it, one we believ emakes sense from a cool and price factor.

COROS and SATISFY dropped the SATISFY COROS APEX 4 today. Most is the same and you’re still getting the same trusted APEX 4 engine underneath. It has a 1.3-inch always-on MIPS display, dual-frequency GPS, 65 hours of battery life, but is wrapped in a crystallized black titanium bezel with sapphire glass.

And it looks great.

But he’s the biggest difference. You get two bands in the box. The first being a khaki nylon band woven with the SATISFY wordmark for everyday wear, and a green silicone band built for wet conditions and hard, sweaty efforts. One for hanging, the other for doing.

On the surface, it seems like a small add-on but that’s a legitimate second strap most brands would sell separately. When you factor that in, the $520 price tag (Standard APREX 4 is $480) starts to look less like a hype tax and more like fair value for a proven watch, that has a limited design. Credit to both brands for not pricing this thing into “flex for the sake of flex” territory like the Zwift watch. For most people, you can actually afford this if you can get it.

What You’re Getting

  • Same trusted core — the APEX 4’s mountain-sport DNA is untouched: dual-frequency GPS, 65-hour battery, always-on MIPS display
  • Exclusive materials — crystallized black titanium bezel, sapphire glass
  • Two bands included — khaki SATISFY-wordmark nylon and green silicone
  • Three exclusive watch faces designed by SATISFY: Physical Overview, Training Overview, and Environment Conditions
  • Three exclusive training sessions built by SATISFY Pro athlete Stian Sommerseth, loaded onto the watch
  • Price: $520

A Match Made in Trail

COROS CEO Lewis Wu framed it as a brand looking to be the best-looking watch on the market, not just the most capable one, and said pairing SATISFY’s aesthetic with the APEX 4 changes how mountain athletes feel about the tech they rely on daily.

On the flip side, SATISFY founder and creative director Brice Partouche said he’d worn the APEX on his own runs long before any partnership talk started, and that COROS choosing SATISFY as its first-ever brand collaboration speaks to a shared obsession with craftsmanship over pure marketing.

For COROS, this is a step outside of the brand that has stayed in its lane as a performance-first watchmaker and by teaming up with an apparel label is certainly calculated and they made sure it fit with who they want to identify with and how they want to be perceived.

Our Thoughts

If you’re chasing hype for hype’s sake, sure, this fits the mold. But if you actually run in the mountains and want a watch that doesn’t look like everyone else’s, the APEX 4 collab gives you a legitimately excellent piece of hardware, a design you won’t see on every wrist at your next race, and two bands to switch between depending on the day.

And most importantly, all without the price ballooning into “cool watch I’ll never own” territory. The extra $50 seems worth it. And that’s a rare combination for a limited-edition drop, and it’s why this one’s worth paying attention to even if collabs aren’t usually your thing.
